Reader: 9/14/1999> My "problem" sounds like a typical guy complaining but it is definately becoming an issue. My wife has gone off birth control(we will be eventually trying for a child) and in the meantime I am using a condom. My problem comes from the fact that I find it almost impossible to reach orgasm while wearing a condom. I have tried many of the "thin" over the counter drugstore brands but have found no success. I am not sure why this problem exists, there are definate sensations there, just well to put in scientific terms, no finish. It can not be that the condom is too tight as I am not super humanly endowed. Any advice and/or information would be greatly appreciated. Dr. Lin: 9/14/1999> If you have a hard erection, condom can make you last longer; otherwise, it will make the penis goes limp. You have relied on the direct penile stimulation to keep your penis erecting. Condom reduces your penile sensitivity and therefore de-actuate your erection. Two methods to compensate this problem: 1. Practice Kegel's PC muscle exercise during sex to assist your erection, but the Kegel PC muscle exercise during sex will cause premature ejaculation - the middle-age men's typical problem.. 2. Recharge your parasympathetic sexual nerve (the erection battery and actuator) with plant or animal hormones or hormone-building substances to produce a natural (spontaneous) erection without oral sex, hand jobs, or masturbation.
